What is balanced dog training?
Balanced dog training is an approach that integrates both reward-based techniques and corrective communication measures to guide a dog's behavior effectively. It focuses on using positive reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors while applying fair, consistent communication to discourage unwanted actions. This method aims to build a strong, respectful bond between owner and dog, promoting learning in a clear and structured way.
Do I have to use an e-collar?
Off-leash freedom for your dog often requires the safe and responsible use of an e-collar. At vanLeeuwenDogTraining, we prioritize your comfort and your dog’s safety, so we use any and all training tools you feel comfortable with to achieve the best results. Our tailored programs ensure that every tool is applied thoughtfully to support your dog’s training and your peace of mind.
How many sessions do you get?
Each program averages 4-6 sessions with trainer Kevin, your pup, and you all as a family or anyone wanting to be involved. Teaching you all the ins and outs of the new skills your pup has learned, helping provide a solid foundation for your new skills. However, I am always happy to arrange additional sessions to ensure you feel fully confident and supported throughout your training journey for no extra charge. Im here to grow your bond and relationship with your favorite canine, not to empty your wallet.
Do you work with reactivity or aggression?
I have specialized part of my training resume in working with aggressive and reactive dogs, bringing more than 10 years of dedicated and focused experience working specifically in these challenging areas. My approach is thoughtfully and carefully tailored to address each dog's unique behavioral needs, ensuring personalized guidance that supports owners in achieving lasting, positive, and meaningful results for their pets.
