My name is Kevin van Leeuwen, and I am the Owner/Operator and head trainer of vanLeeuwen Dog Training!

I previously owned and operated Pooches Pals Dog Training, where I assisted hundreds of families and their pets in building successful relationships!

My positively balanced training methods facilitate effective communication and cooperation between humans and their canine companions. The training methods chosen for your dog will be crucial to your success! I will ensure that your expectations and goals are aligned and that we are accommodating your dog's needs!

I believe that every dog-human relationship is unique.

Dogs have encouraged me to get outside, explore the country, and appreciate the world around us! My lifetime of skills from a multitude of dog worlds allows me to teach foundational skills and resolve issues that can arise in these special relationships between humans and dogs!

Growing up in Arlington, TX, I spent my time hunting and fishing with many bird dogs and Labrador Retrievers!

My childhood passion began with the sport and hunting world. From hunting with pit bull mixes, to scent work with Labrador Retrievers, and seeing bird dogs point and flush was exhilarating as a child!

I got my first personal dog at age 14: a yellow Labrador Retriever named Rocky!

With my long line, bag of treats, and a fire in my soul, I was ready for anything! I carry that fire with me and want to help kindle yours!

I have spent the past 20 years being enveloped in all things dogs. I have spent time learning from all philosophy’s for dog training. How to use any and all tools for our furry family members care and freedom to the world! I love to meet people and their dogs exactly where they are at in life. Approaching training choices/ tools and the expectations they can bring you! Bringing comfort and also that edge of getting a little outside the box to work on building the best relationship with our pups is exactly what vanLeeuwenDogTraining has been created for.

Our children's first dogs, or any dog that joins a family, hold a special place in my heart, and I love to have the children join training in any capacity the family chooses!
